"STUNTED GROWTH: DWARVES AND THE REJECTION OF SEXUALITY IN THE ARTEMIS FOWL SERIES"

In this essay, I demonstrate how a fairy-tale lineage influences the function of dwarfs in Eoin Colfer’s Artemis Fowl series. Using the concept of abjection, this essay demonstrates how Colfer’s dwarfs move beyond merely being visually unappealing to encouraging the rejection of the very idea of the sexualized body.
